Plaatsmaker aims to establish a professional development program (or “learning track”) for current and aspiring creative professionals. The goal is to help participants develop the necessary competencies to set up, manage, and sustain creative spaces in a future-proof and socially responsible way. This program is intended for both aspiring and current facilitators of creative spaces—people who play a key role in enabling and supporting creative environments. There is a growing demand for the development of creative spaces, which requires a specific and often overlooked skill set. To meet this need, professionals must be equipped to: collaborate effectively with other creative professionals; engage with municipalities and property owners/developers: operate within temporary or transitional spaces: build and nurture communities that can collectively manage properties and foster the professional growth of creatives: understand how to access funding and write successful grant applications.
Currently, there is no dedicated platform or training that comprehensively brings together this knowledge and offers opportunities to practice these skills. This gap highlights the urgent need for a structured learning program that can prepare professionals to meet these challenges.
