A community of change for creative skills

This pilot introduces learners to the theory and practice of narrative design in games, with a focus on communicating value, provoking public impact, and critically engaging ethical storytelling. Learners explore narrative structures, character development, player agency, and digital tools for prototyping. The typical learner is someone who already has experience and/or training in writing or adapting linear stories for screen, stage or literature, but wants to explore interactive medias and non-linear storytelling.

Throughout, learners reflect on how interactive narratives shape, challenge, and reinforce cultural meanings—applying CYANOTYPES competences to both creative output and process. By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

1.        Analyse narrative techniques in interactive, non-linear, and emergent media.

2.        Prototype interactive game stories using professional tools.

3.        Design branching narratives that reflect societal values and provoke impact.

4.        Collaborate across creative roles and disciplines to develop cohesive narrative experiences.

5.        Reflect critically on their creative process through a triple loop learning framework.
