A community of change for creative skills

This pilot investigates how microcredentials can support the visibility, transferability, and sectoral alignment of creative competences within the FilmEU alliance. It focuses on integrating CYANOTYPES competences into modular, project-based learning experiences that reflect the realities of creative practice.

The pilot engages higher education teachers, researchers, and sector partners in co-designing and delivering microcredential modules. It also explores their relevance for broader education ecosystems, including the CYANOTYPES Academy and the emerging Microcredentials Catalogue.

Key activities include collaborative curriculum development, peer validation of learning outcomes, digital credentialing, and structured feedback collection from learners and employers. These activities aim to assess the effectiveness of microcredentials as tools for supporting creative agency, enabling personalised learning journeys, and facilitating smoother transitions from education to professional life in the CCI sector.

Microcredentials are positioned not only as tools for lifelong learning, but also as instruments for systemic innovation—helping to bridge the gap between institutional curricula and evolving sectoral demands.

Pilot Lead: Lusófona University (Portugal)

Lusófona University brings a strong research and educational background in media, arts, and communication, contributing deeply to the CYANOTYPES project’s focus on future-oriented skill development. The university has been actively involved in work packages related to continuous skills intelligence gathering and mapping, helping define the skills gap landscape in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI). This strategic role ensures the project’s outputs are grounded in real-world data and academic rigour.

By integrating insights from research into learning pathway development, Lusófona supports the creation of flexible training strategies tailored to both current and future CCI challenges. Their interdisciplinary approach enhances the adaptability of creative professionals and fosters systemic thinking across various cultural and technological domains.
