A community of change for creative skills

The pilot aims to integrate the Creative Agency Model and the Blueprinter into the work of the Generative Arts and Design Lab to facilitate self-directed learning with a focus on future agency and it’s designed to be implemented in the course of one semester. Furthermore, the CYANOTYPES framework will be used to prepare the semester’s teaching plans and individual lessons, and support self-organised research.

Learning will be focused on specific clusters: Collective Agency, Data-Driven Agency and Public Agency, and the competences will be determined by the learning progress. The pilot’s target audience is the teaching staff in arts and design education, and students in arts and design education (cross-disciplinary format: communication design, cultural management, fine arts, media art and design, media informatics, product design).

Pilot Lead: HBKS Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar (Germany)

HBKS Saar, the University of Fine Arts Saar, contributes its expertise in visual arts and design education to help embed creative agency into CYANOTYPES’ competence frameworks. As a thought leader in arts pedagogy, HBKS supports critical competencies such as conceptual thinking, narrative design, and managing transformations—central to empowering creatives facing disruptive change.

Their participation also strengthens the regenerative and public agency dimensions of the framework, ensuring that cultural work remains socially engaged, sustainable, and ethically grounded. By doing so, HBKS fosters a reflective, values-driven practice in the next generation of artists and designers.

“Creativity is not just a skill; it is a form of agency. The world is changing quickly, and we need frameworks that anticipate change.”
