A community of change for creative skills

This pilot introduces and tests the CYANOTYPES Skills Match-Making Platform in a higher education context, focusing on the alignment of creative competences with sectoral demands in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI). It aims to evaluate the platform’s usability and relevance within academic settings, and to explore its role as a tool for competence-based reflection, learning pathway planning, and career alignment.

The pilot involves higher education teachers, students, practitioners, alumni, and sector professionals. Activities include guided exploration of the platform, structured discussions on its integration into academic and professional development workflows, and systematic collection of user feedback to inform iterative platform improvements.

Additional actions include sector-specific ambassador models (e.g., Film & AV, Games, Fashion), which support engagement with particular competence clusters. The pilot also explores themes such as value creation and data-driven agency as integral components of user learning journeys. The work is framed by the CYANOTYPES Creative Agency Competence Framework, with an emphasis on transversal competences and co-creation across disciplines.

Pilot Lead: Lusófona University (Portugal)

Lusófona University brings a strong research and educational background in media, arts, and communication, contributing deeply to the CYANOTYPES project’s focus on future-oriented skill development. The university has been actively involved in work packages related to continuous skills intelligence gathering and mapping, helping define the skills gap landscape in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI). This strategic role ensures the project’s outputs are grounded in real-world data and academic rigour.

By integrating insights from research into learning pathway development, Lusófona supports the creation of flexible training strategies tailored to both current and future CCI challenges. Their interdisciplinary approach enhances the adaptability of creative professionals and fosters systemic thinking across various cultural and technological domains.
